According to the preliminary performance of the first quarter of 2026, the total revenue and support of the State Consolidated Budget amounted to 7.2 trillion tugriks. The balanced revenue and support amounted to 6.3 trillion tugriks, an increase of 153 billion tugriks or 2.5 percent from the same period of the previous year.
Total expenditure and net borrowing reached 7.7 trillion tugriks, an increase of 17.9 percent from the same period of the previous year, and the balanced balance of the state budget showed a deficit of 1.4 trillion tugriks, according to the National Statistics Committee (NSC).
The increase in total expenditure and net borrowing of the state budget by 1.2 trillion tugriks from the same period of the previous year was mainly due to
an increase in goods and services expenditure by 338 billion tugriks
an increase in current transfers by 213 billion tugriks
and an increase in capital expenditure by 498 billion tugriks.
According to preliminary figures for the first quarter of this year, total tax revenue was 5.9 trillion tugriks, an increase of 75 billion tugriks, or 1.3 percent, from the same period last year.
However, income tax revenue fell by 343 billion tugriks, or 17 percent, and excise tax revenue fell by 93 billion tugriks, or 32 percent.
